Mary Novick
Irish Woman of the Year

Mary Novick, a first-generation Irish-American, was born and raised in Brooklyn by her parents Breda (Bridget) and Pat, alongside her brothers Daniel and Patrick.
She attended the University of Scranton - a Loyal Royal forever - where she graduated with BAs in English and Communication. Her successful career in advertising spans 25+ years working with some of the most innovative brands. Currently, she is the Director of Brand Sales at hudl.
Mary is married to her husband Frankie of 11 years and a mommy to Bridget (9), Ciarán (7) and her dog Summer (4). They moved to Cranford 7 years ago and have built an incredible life in their forever home.
When people meet Mary, they often notice two things: her pride in her Irish heritage and her willingness to help others.
Mary, a proud NY Irish-American, grew up attending Irish Fairs, going to seisiúns with her mom, and listening to WFUV on Sundays. St. Patrick’s Day was special for her, as she never missed a NYC parade with loved ones. This tradition included a parent-approved absence from school (and later, work) which has been passed down to her children. Four years ago, her family started their own parade in Cranford, bringing together 100+ friends to march.
Mary spent most summers in Ireland with her mom’s family, growing up alongside many cousins. She split her time between Dublin and Kerry, experiencing city and country life. As she grew older, her visits continued, often with friends, as she played tour guide in the place she calls home. She recently spent over two weeks there sharing her love of Ireland with her children.
While at Scranton, she learned of the Jesuit motto, Ad Majoren Dei Gloriam. The idea of giving time for the betterment of others resonated with her. After college, she began volunteering with Nativity Mission Center, Make-A-Wish, and the UofS Alumni Committee, utilizing her ability to connect to fundraise.
Recently Mary has focused her volunteer within her community. She is an active member of Daughters of Ireland and plays an integral part in the Union County Celtic Festival and The Cranford St. Patrick’s Parade. Additionally, Mary is a Girl Scout Leader and is a class mom.
Mary is a vocal advocate for Long Covid, having been diagnosed with the condition three years ago.
